We respect your privacy and your rights to control your personal data. Our principle guidelines are simple. We will be clear about the data we collect and why. We will make sure that your personal data are adequately secured. We do not and will not sell your data to third parties.
The prime purpose of collecting your data is to allow you to use the Schiphol Career apps and to provide you with personal recommendations which are relevant to your career.
This Privacy Statement (the ‘Statement’) explains the personal data we collect from you, either directly or indirectly, and how we will use it. Personal data is any information that can be used to identify you or that we can link to you. The Statement applies to all products and services offered by Schiphol Career, including the Schiphol Career app and the Schiphol Career Facebook app (the ‘Apps’), any Schiphol Career-controlled websites, as well as offline interactions, such as customer support (collectively referred to as, ‘Schiphol Career Products and Services’). Please read this Statement carefully to understand how Schiphol Career may collect, use and share your personal data. The terms ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘Schiphol Career’ are each intended as reference to Lift B.V.
1. What personal data do we collect about you?
1.1 Schiphol Career app
When you use the Schiphol Career products, we collect information that you voluntarily provide to us, such as your name, gender, interests and email address. We collect information from the usage of the apps and chatbot conversations. We collect the questions asked by the app and chatbot and your answers in response to those questions. We do not and will not create questions related to special categories of personal data, such as your political opinions or health.
We automatically collect information about your use of the Schiphol Career products or information collected by cookies and similar technologies when you use, access or interact with the Schiphol Career products. We may, for example, collect information about the type of device you use to access our app, the operating system and version, your general location (city, country and region/province), your time zone, and other usage data, such as the number of times you tapped the chat button, the date when the app opened for the first time, last time you used the app, number of consecutive days that you used the app, number of recommendations and number of vacancy URLs opened.
1.2 Schiphol Career Facebook Messenger Chatbot
When you use the Schiphol Career Facebook Messenger Chatbot, we collect your name, username, gender, country and the link to your Facebook webpage. We also collect information from the chatbot conversation, similar to the Schiphol Career app.
When you visit our websites, we may automatically collect information about your use of the website or information collected by cookies and similar technologies when you use, access or interact with the website. We may, for example, collect information about your browser type, IP address, your general location (city, country and region/province), as indicated by your IP address, and other usage data, such as the webpages you view on our websites.
We do not target and do not intend to attract children under the age of sixteen. Although visitors of all ages may navigate through our websites or use our Apps, we do not knowingly collect or request personal data from those under the age of sixteen without parental consent. If, following a notification from a parent, guardian or by other means, we find out a child under sixteen has been improperly registered by us, we will cancel the child’s account and delete the child’s personal data from our records.
2. For what purposes do we process your personal data and on what legal basis?
2.1 Basic usage of Apps
The prime purpose of collecting your data is to allow you to use the products and to provide you with personal recommendations, which are relevant to your career. This includes downloading the Schiphol Career app or befriending the Schiphol Career Facebook app, to register and maintain your account and to make sure that the Apps perform their basic functions in a secure way. This processing is strictly necessary for the performance of the agreement we have with you.
2.2 Improvement of Apps
We continually use data to develop and improve our products. This includes maintaining and improving the performance and security of our Apps, developing and adding new features or capabilities, to detect and prevent fraud, to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. We also use data for analysis and business intelligence that help us to make informed decisions about our business. This processing is necessary to serve our legitimate interest.
We use your personal data to provide customer care and support services. We also use the data to deliver and personalize our communications with you. For example, we may contact you by email or other means of electronic communication to inform you about new Schiphol Career Products or Services, security or software updates, update you on a support issue or to invite you to take part in a survey. This processing is necessary to serve our legitimate interest.
With whom do we share your personal data?
We do not and will not sell personal data about our users. We only disclose your data as described in this Statement. We may share information with the following types of third parties.
We use a variety of third-party vendors to carry out services, such as hosting, data analysis, to facilitate user interaction and to create reports. We only share your personal data as necessary. These vendors may only process the personal data on behalf of Schiphol Career and for the purposes described in this Statement.
When you use a product that is licensed to a customer, we may collect and aggregate personal data and then share/distribute the data to the customer according to our agreement with them.

Do we transfer your personal data internationally?
When sharing data with third parties, your personal data may be transferred from the European Union to countries where data protection laws may provide a lower standard of protection for personal data. We take great care in protecting your personal data and have put in place adequate mechanisms to protect it when it is transferred internationally. We will transfer your personal data in compliance with applicable data protection laws and will implement suitable safeguards to ensure that your personal data are adequately secured by any third party that will access your data (for instance, by using the Standard Contractual Clauses as approved by the European Commission).
For how long do we retain your personal data?
We will retain your personal data for no longer than is necessary to enable you to use the Schiphol Career Products and Services. Personal data gathered through our Apps will be retained for 36 months after installation or latest activity. After the 36 months have passed, we will ask you whether you want to keep on using your account. If you do not want to keep using your account, we will delete your personal data, unless we are required by law to retain your personal data for longer or may need your data to resolve disputes with any parties.
